I have sung the praises of a number of maple creams (otherwise called maple butters) on this sweets blog (read past reviews here). In fact, I have never encountered a maple cream I didn't thoroughly enjoy. If created correctly, from 100% pure maple syrup and nothing else, maple cream cannot possibly taste any less than delicious. That said, this Maple Butter from the local Cidrerie Verger Bilodeau on Île d'Orléans in Quebec is possibly the best maple cream I've ever tasted. The robust maple flavor sings, changing in consistency on the tongue from a thick cream back to its original syrupy form. I'll admit that most of the container was gone before the end of the first night. It's impossible to resist. Thanks to my Mom for bringing this treasure back from the land of Maple!
