Limited Edition Toblerone Snowtop: Swiss Milk and White Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat


The limited edition Toblerone Snowtop consists of a foundation of traditional Toblerone milk chocolate that is laced with honey and almond nougat bits topped with a bonus layer of white chocolate. It's yummy white chocolate and I always enjoy Toblerone's textured nougat-y milk chocolate. Combined, however, the bar is too sweet. The addition of the white chocolate simply detracts from the original product. I'll be eager to see what other limited editions Toblerone comes up with, though.

La Colombe Workshop Traditional Coffee Caramel

La Colombe Workshop Traditional Coffee Caramel is total insanity in the very best way possible! The caramel is so thick it remains a rigid entity on a spoon and yet melts instantly in your mouth. There's definite substance to the stuff. A whole lot of finely ground coffee is laced throughout jar, balancing the sweet of the caramel with some raw coffee bean bite. There's caffeine in there, too, so the sugar and caffeine result in a little spike of energy after consumption. Always a bonus. You can spread the coffee caramel on toast or cookies or fruit, top ice cream with it, drop some in your coffee, or eat it straight from the spoon. The flavor works beautifully in an astounding array of combinations. The jar disappeared all-too-quickly. Thanks, Conor and Ronan!

Green & Black's Organic Dark Chocolate Spiced Chilli Bar


Oh, no, this Green & Black's Organic Spiced Chilli Dark Chocolate Bar is not delicious at all. I'm not the biggest fan of spicy sweets, so I asked around for some spice-enthusiast reactions and heard the same sentiment. There's a strange fruity flavor to the bar along side the chili powder that resembles rotting fruit. It's really unpleasant- delicious chocolate, rotten fruit, and chili powder combined to look like an innocent chocolate bar. I'd like to add the caveat, though, that this is not a reflection of the Green & Black brand in general. All of their other flavors are so tasty and the high quality organic chocolate is created with fairtrade beans. I'm a fan of the company and their chocolate. So although I administer the warning to stay well away from this particular Dark Chocolate Chilli Bar, do try out some of their other fantastic flavors.

Peanut Butter Discovery: Ohio Buckeyes




Recently some colleagues attended a conference in Ohio and brought back a selection of Buckeyes, a traditional candy native to Ohio. Apparently the chocolate dipped peanut butter bonbons got their name because of their resemblance to the nut of the local Buckeye tree. They are delicious. I don't know exactly why the candy has never spread beyond the state borders because it's basically a creamy peanut butter candy contained within a chocolate wrapper and the taste is sensational- like a creamy softer version of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. I was able to sample two brands- Anthony Thomas Official Ohio State Buckeyes and Harry London Gourmet Buckeyes. They were both really good. The ones by Anthony Thomas were a bit softer throughout, milkier overall. I wouldn't be able to cite a favorite between the two, although I'm sure if I delved further into the world of packaged Buckeyes I could really begin to understand what constitutes a "superior" Buckeye. Fox's Rocky Rugged Chocolate Bar

Elegant in its simplicity, the Rocky Rugged Chocolate Bar is an ideal two-to-three bite treat. The chocolate bar is created by Fox's Biscuits (since 1853!) and is comprised of a simple buttery cookie smothered in rich milk chocolate. Which I admit sounds vaguely unexciting- there are a whole lot of variations on this theme on the market. But it's a great bite of buttery crunch blended with good milk chocolate. The biscuit is a little less dense than a Twix cookie, and there's a whole lot of chocolate piled onto the cookie. The Rocky Rugged Bar achieves the highest level of the chocolate-covered-biscuit form, elevating it from a cookie to a candy bar. Thanks, Evan!

I love this entire line of Extra Dessert Delights Sugarfree Gum! The flavors are unique and whimsical and surprisingly realistic. Real beloved desserts. This Peach Cobbler flavor is no different. Heavy cinnamon blends with a base of syrupy peach, reflecting the flavor of a real peach cobbler perfectly! In a stick of sugarfree gum! As with the others, the flavor fades really quickly so you're bound to complete the pack in a flash. Buy five packs just to start. Also, the peach cobbler flavor can be a little heavy. If you want refreshing gum, this is not the right choice. If you want to clear your palate, don't choose this one. But if you want to recreate the taste of fresh baked goods in your mouth without the calories, pick up a pack (or five) now!

Cadbury Dairy Milk Giant Buttons



I dare any reader to name a mass-produced chocolate bar better than Cadbury Dairy Milk! For me, there is no competition- so milky; so melty. The fact that one can now eat the good stuff in little bite-sized pellets is a fantastic bonus. Far easier to consume the chocolate this way (and probably more polite than shoving a chocolate bar in one's mouth)! Thanks, Tara!
