Christmas Wrap-Up: Pearsons Dark Chocolate Mint Patties

These Christmas Edition Pearsons Dark Chocolate Mint Patties rival York Peppermint Patties for deliciousness and mass consumability. I'd guess that there's a little bit higher ratio of peppermint to chocolate in a Pearsons Pattie than in a York- the patties seem a tad bit thicker. They are also a tiny bit less aerated- not only is the pattie a bit thicker than a York, it feels substantially heavier in the hand and is slower to break down on the tongue. They're great. I wish Pearsons had gone out on a limb and done something a little more special for the holiday- a santa-shaped candy, or pink or green-colored mint pattie- something that takes a little more creativity and effort to produce. I'd still eat a bag of these any day with pleasure.

Score: 3

  1. The nice thing is that they're still made in the United States. The York Peppermint Patties are now made in Mexico. I went out of my way to find the Pearson's this year for the holidays.

  2. Ooh, very good to know! Buy local! Thanks!
